Because of the pandemic, I had lost opportunities and was struggling to figure out what I would do. I last minute applied for an engineering internship position with a lab at my university… and got it! I took a lot of Mariana and Alejandro’s advice to heart and it led to me getting this great position. I’m currently interning with the Penn State Learning Factory and Nuclear Operations team to optimize the radiation survey processes for the 90+ labs at Penn State using radioactive materials.

I am always excited to read Alejandro and Mariana’s contents anytime they pop up on my LinkedIn feed—and that was even before they formed InternMakers. It is so sweet that these two successful individuals decided to commit themselves to help other students land internships, jobs, and develop necessary skills. I am someone that doesn’t take any opportunity for granted, and I always ensure that I make maximum use of the resources shared by InternMakers. In fact, I have had 1:1 sessions with the founders, and I still stay in good contact until the date. This has paid off for me in no small way as I have been able to learn how to effectively navigate the recruiting process and land an internship at Froedtert Health.

As a first-generation student, I didn’t even plan to go to college nevertheless had an idea what an internship was. InternMakers gave me the resources to build my resume and tips to excel in my interviews. Since then I have gone on to intern at Microsoft and lead student organizations at my University for the first time!
